The AnyKey is constructed of a plastic chassis that is large compared to most modern keyboards partially owing to the extra columns of keys on the left side and also slightly thicker than gatewwy keyboard casings of the present era. But it has a light touch under the surface, with a soft, absorbent quality that dampens every keystroke.

The only keys on the AnyKey that cannot be programmed in at least some way are those used to control the programming itself — Program Macro, Suspend Macro, Repeat Rate, and Remap. Just not quite as convenient as Doug's current solution though. Because this functionality is self-contained in the kb, the computer needs no awareness that the incoming keyhoard is programmed -- it just receives it as regular input though at a very high speed and responds accordingly.

I was able to apply macros to the provided extra F keys, so I happily rolled along.

The AnyKey's touch is much firmer than ksyboard subsequent rubber-dome keyboards, and provides the clicky audible feedback and feel that enhances touch-typing speed and accuracy. These are visually very similar to version 1 keyboards, with the same AT style plug and chassis.

Might just give anykeey and go for a decent used PS2 beige keyboard. This is done on the hardware level inside the keyboard's controller itself.
